I went on another online date yesterday. Some of them are fun and nice. This one was like temping -- something mildly unpleasant and tedious that you just have to get through before you get a better, more permanent position.

In the past couple of days, I've had somewhat awkward conversations regarding upcoming wedding plans and strange dreams. a prof I'm working with asked me to review a paper (so I got that going for me) and oh, can you get it in today or tomorrow.

The roomate situation seems to be running smoothly. knock on wood. Its strange living with someone you've been friends with for a long time. I wasn't sure what to expect. Maybe we'll be peas and carrots, but maybe we'll not see eachother much. Each of us has our own friends after all. it seems ok though.

Sunday we went to the sushi place on the corner. They gave us the corner window table, which seemed like a score. people kept coming up to us though. Some panhandlers wouldn't leave after the first rejection. Then, some ironic kid passed the sidewalk fighting with a freak from the park. They split up, and the freak came over, happy that he stole the kid's cowboyish hat. The boy came back for his hat, and they fought again.

That's a lot of drama for one sitting's worth of people watching. I thought the whole thing about people watching is that you can talk about them, but they don't come and talk to you?

jb and I both decided that the sushi was good, but next time, we'll do without the choice corner window table.

so, the dreams.

yesterday, I dreampt I was trying to escape a russian castle. was there, and we tried to convince her to let us out. was a somewhat skanky central pa stripper i was friends of friends with back in the day. i saw her name on myspace right before going to bed, but it ended up being someone else. before she let us go, some guards came to catch us. we ambushed them, and I took one of the guards swords and stabbed him over and over. I had to get in behind him and strike down to get under his body armor. eventually, I had shredded his chest and neck pretty good, but when i turned around and saw his face, it was tuckman, the bt goalie. I sobbed and sobbed for killing my friend.

This morning I awoke from another dream, but it escapes me now.
