so, I just spent the afternoon dealing with those fuckers at UHAUL.
Knowing that tons of people move at the end of the month, I reserved a truck online on the 12th. I went out to Chelsea to see about the truck today, but they had neither trucks nor my reservation.
I then looked up the actual location responsable for the reservation (132nd and Broadway) and they had no record of my reservation either. They suggested I call the 800 number, and THOSE people suggested I call the local number. Then they hung up on me.
fuckers. If you read the fine print on the online reservation thing, it says that UHAUL will confirm a pickup time by 5PM the day before your moving date. How unhelpful is that? What if they don't have a truck, cause, you know, its the end of the month and everyone is moving? Thats why you reserve in advance in the first place.
so yeah, UHAUL is a bunch of motherfuckers. after panicking for 2 minutes, I tracked down Damian, the "Man with a Van" from hockey. He is now hired.
whew.
